Forum roundup: ghost hunters, hot air balloons and a free phone
The standout releases of the past few weeks on the Cfx.re forum, from a co-op ghost hunt with 600+ likes to a fully open-source phone.
Hundreds of releases appear on the Cfx.re forum every month. We picked the standouts from the past few weeks and summarised them in our own words. You'll find the details and downloads in the original posts.
Release of the month: Ghost Hunting by RTX
With more than 600 likes, Ghost Hunting by RTX_Dev is the most popular release of the month, and it's easy to see why. Players take on a case, form a team and investigate a haunted house with a thermometer, an EMF reader, a spirit box and a camera. They keep a shared journal and have to work out which of ten ghosts they're dealing with. The longer you stay inside, the lower your sanity and the more aggressive the ghost. You build haunted houses in-game, with no config files and no restart. Just in time for Halloween.
Free and open source: Sky Phone
Sky Phone by Eichenholz is a complete phone for ESX Legacy, QBCore and Qbox, released under GPL-3.0. It packs in a lot: calls and radio (with YACA, PMA Voice or SaltyChat), messages and voice messages, social apps, banking and invoices, a marketplace, a camera with gallery and even minigames. It's still a beta, but for a free phone it's exceptionally complete.
Building together: Multiplayer Builder Job
TworstShop made a job where players construct a building together, across twelve regions that each have their own mechanic: formwork, rebar, a tower crane, a concrete pump. The finished building stays visible to the whole server. We like that all progress and payouts are tracked on the server. That's how it should be done.
Small but nice
- ms_balloon by MikeScript: a free, flyable hot air balloon. Great for events, dates and cinematics.
- TGIANN Map & Blip System: a redesigned pause map with separate day and night textures, a searchable blip panel and postal codes.
- Zyke's Advanced Wheel Pop: wheels take damage, fall off as synced objects and can be picked up again.
- 9LABS Movement: lean out of cover while aiming and grab ledges automatically, without teleport tricks.
